Quail

Quail are fabulous and fascinating little birds. They are a ground bird which are hardy and tough. They can come in all sorts of types, but the most common are the Coturnix Quail and even these come in a variety of colours such as Pharaoh, Italian, Tuxedo, Tibetan and more.

They are best kept in a low pen or even a large rabbit hutch. They like foliage and branches to hide between and require a high protein diet of Quail layers pellets. These are super layers of camouflaged eggs which are great for pickling or hard boiled for salads or just fried.
